For those of you who aren’t aware, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested Thursday night on weapons charges. No, this was a Plaxico Burress, I-shot-myself-in-a-public-place type of deal. No, Mr. West was minding his own business, riding his motorcycle when he was pulled over in Maryland. Police found a loaded pistol in his jacket, another one in his pants leg, and A SHOTGUN IN HIS GUITAR CASE, which was strapped to his back. Really? Really Delonte? Good Lord. Use your head dude - the real world isn’t Hollywood - people can’t ride around like they are in the Matrix, armed to the teeth, and not expect to get caught.
Who are you trying to be, Antonio Banderas?? Life doesn’t necessitate riding around with guns in a guitar case like ‘Desperado’ man. It’s fairly simple (provided you aren’t a hardened criminal) to get a concealed carry permit in most states - we suggest you look into that after this whole deal blows over.
Best of luck in beating this case - hopefully you are ahead of the game and already have CCW permits for your guns. If not, prepare to get got in the big house. Best of luck to you.

Will Ferrell is a comedic genius. His portrayal of George W. Bush in a one-man broadway play is epic - absolutely impressive on so many levels. Now I don’t want anyone to think HAAP is getting political here - we are merely recognizing Mr. Ferrell’s massive comedic talent. Taking some time away from his almost-as-good-as-haapmag.com-website, Funny or Die (a sample of the site’s best work is “The Landlord” sketch) , he performed on Broadway earlier this year (some of you may have caught it on HBO in March - see the trailer here). The rest of us will need to wait until the DVD comes out in November - a long wait, but well worth it.

Look - it’s no secret in this country that Wade Boggs is a worthy, acceptable idol for all children to worship - along with Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer, and Tim Tebow. It’s also no secret that Boggs can possibly drink more beer in one sitting than any man on Earth. Last we checked, ‘The Legend of Boggs’ was at 64 beers - who knows, it may be up around 75 now. College kids these days can tell some whoppers…..
Anyways, for your reading pleasure, the kind gentlemen over at tastybooze.com were awesome enough to post this story a couple years ago, told from a first hand perspective by former Major Leaguer Jeff Nelson. Yeah yeah, it isn’t recent, it isn’t news, everybody knows it, etc. etc. etc. Yeah, well every now and then people need to be reminded about history, and this is one of those times. Just read the story and laugh like a normal person would. It basically confirms the fact that Boggs is, in fact, all that is man. So the next time you feel like throwin’ down a few Miller Lites, do the right thing and make a toast or 64 to Boggs.
