WJW Fox 8 Cleveland shows how it’s done

Many media types have blamed the downfall of journalism on blogs such as this one.

I tend to blame it on this video clip from WJW Fox 8 in Cleveland.

I guess a bear does scat in the woods.

Unbelievable. Worst news story I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Not only do they have some poor idiot running around holding a bear cutout showing what the bear ‘probably’ looked like, but they also have some other idiot (or maybe it’s the same idiot) in a damn giant rabbit outfit who says “I’m faster than a bear.” Sorry brosef - the road to news anchor does NOT include holding a bear cutout.

Another question I have is this - why is a bear being in the woods newsworthy? Does this mean that if someone in Florida sees an alligator in pond, it’s worthy of a news story? Or what about a snake being spotted under a log? More news? Get real. This is crap.

And why the hell do news reporters always have to report from the side of a busy road or intersection? Does that give them added credibility since they are ‘on the scene’? Or do they want to seem like they are in the middle of the action on a hard-hitting story? Sorry, I’m butter today. No one is safe.

WJW Fox 8 in Cleveland, congratulations. You have officially sunken to the bottom of the barrel in news reporting. If I am ever in Cleveland to watch Lebron and Shaq dominate, I will most definitely catch the post-game highlights on another channel.
