In what is sure to be a trend for the next couple years, Vibe Magazine will no longer be in production. Newspapers have been consolidated and going out of circulation for quite some time, but this is the first large magazine company I’ve heard of having to shutdown. Sadly I’m sure it won’t be the last. Their chief content editor was working on a special Michael Jackson tribute edition when he got the news. Since the closing is effective immediately the articles will not be published, although they could hit the net because they haven’t decided whether to shutdown their website or not. I’m not sure why they don’t have anything up on their website, but apparently it’s a done deal. So, if you’ve been checking your mail wondering when your next issue was coming, you can chill.
