The original Superman has been traded to the Cavs (see full story here).  The deal has been agreed to in principle and is expected to be finalized Thursday, according to sources.  Cleveland will send Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to Phoenix for the presumptive future Hall of Famer.  Sources said the Suns will also receive the 46th pick in Thursday’s NBA draft and $500,000.  What do HAAP readers think about this?

I think this is a great pickup for the Cavs. They needed a big body down low as I have always said that Ilgauskus and that floppy haired Brazilian, Varejao, were too weak to get past the Lakers (and this year, the Magic).

If Shaq can do what he did in Phoenix and keep up with the speedy lineup where Lebron will push it, then this will be a great pickup. Let’s see if Shaq can last the full 82 game season and then a full playoff schedule. I’m betting the Original Superman will flame out sometime in the playoffs and Lebron and the Cavs will be sitting at home for next year’s finals. After the recent trade of the Magic for Vince Carter, I think next year’s Eastern Conference finals will be between the Magic and the Celtics (assuming KG comes back full strength).
