I guess Michael Jordan can’t be good at everything. His 20-minute-plus Hall of Fame acceptance speech (click here for Part One and Two) has met with some not-so-nice reviews from Yahoo Sports and ESPN.
Rick Reilly from ESPN: “In the entire 23-minute cringe-athon, there were only six thank yous, seven if you count his sarcastic rip at the very Hall that was inducting him. “Thank you, Hall of Fame, for raising ticket prices, I guess,” he sneered. By comparison, David Robinson’s classy and heartfelt seven-minute speech had 17. Joe Montana’s even shorter speech in Canton had 23. Who wrote your speech Mike? Kanye West?”
Ouch.

It’s sad but true. He is the greatest competitor ever, but at the expense of having any class. He flew his high school coach and the guy that made the JV team over him to the HOF so that he could say F you basically.

Wack speech, but nothing he does could tarnish MJ’s image in my mind. He’s just that . . . MJ, the best that ever did it, the best there ever was.
