Asher Roth stopped by Famous Stars and Straps at PURE in Las Vegas to spit a few rhymes for Travis Barker’s. Asher kills it and deserves something for balancing on the corner of a DJ booth for his entire set. Somebody get the kid a drink. Asher is followed by a less impressive Kid Cudi. Check the video out below.
For those who haven’t heard, Asher’s forthcoming album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, is being released at midnight on 4/20 (of course).
Asher Roth sits down with MySpace Music to talk music, moves, and college. Who knew? Check the man out. (We’ve said it before and we will say it again . . . we were the first to put out the College Anthem.)
UNDRCRWN has solicited the services of Asher Roth and his trademark “College” label for a collection of gear. The apparel includes tees, sweatshirts, and varsity jackets. Available at UNDRCROWN. Asher, we love college too. But I gotta be honest, we were the first to drop the College Anthem. (coming to you in a post soon)
B.o.B, Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton and Wale will be featured on the cover of XXL’s December issue. They are headlining XXL’s 10 Freshmen of 2009, which is a list of the 10 hip hop artists you should keep an eye on next year.
The other artists featured in the XXL article are Ace Hood, Curren$y, Mickey Factz, Cory Gunz, Kid Cudi and our personal favorite Blu. We got nervous when we didn’t see Blu on the cover. Any list of up and coming hip hop artists would be a joke without his name on it.
Here is a track from the XXL cover artists (minus Wale) that will appear on B.o.B’s upcoming mixtape The Unclearables, which is being produced by DJ Green Lantern. “Change Gonna Come” features a hot Sam Cooke sample and strong verses from the Freshmen.
You can keep up with Asher on his site The Daily Kush, Charles Hamilton on his Myspace page, Wale at Elitaste.com, and B.oB at bobatl.com. One thing is for sure. All of these artists have capitalized on viral internet marketing techniques to catapult their careers. They are gaining respect and generating large followings by releasing high quality music for free via the mixtape. It is sure to pay off in the long term.
Why not? Asher Roth (The Daily Kush) a.k.a. the Burb’s Blonde Banger, a.ka. the Richie Rich Rapper, a.k.a. the Don Juan of the Daily Kush has dropped his own freestyle (you can be the judge of whether it is a freestyle or not) over the never-heard-it-before “A Milli” beat. Some feel Asher, some don’t. But nobody can say he doesn’t bring it hard on this freestyle.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Larry Bird of Hip Hop, equipped with the curly blonde locks, on the mic:
