There’s a reason that we post HELLA mixtapes from our boy Charles - and it’s not that we are getting a kickback (though it would be nice). It’s mainly because he puts out new shit on his mixtapes….and that he can flow with the best of them. Every other mixtape on the streets is the same, tired shit - the same ol’ songs, about the same ol’ shit, just on different albums. When was the last time that someone put out a WHOLE ALBUM about his ex-chicks? Hmm? Pretty sure it’s never been done. So kudos to our boy for (still) being original.
Alright, listen up. Just because it’s almost February doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on a little Christmas cheer for everyone. So just to brighten up your week (or two), we are going to drop a new mixtape every day for the next 12 days. Will you like each and every one? Doubtful. Will you appreciate 12 free joints? Probably. If not, you’re a hater and a ho. But will each and every one be certified bangers (in our eyes)? You bet your ass they will be. So without further ado, here is the 12 Days of Mixtapes premiere - The Best of the Hamiltonization Process from our boy, Charles Hamilton - aka Sonic the Hedgehog.
You have our word that these next 12 days will consist of more than just CH mixtapes - although, pretty much everything he puts out is a banger, so you shouldn’t be too upset with the first freebie of the series. This joint is no different. Enjoy, and thank us while you nod your head. H@ap.
Once again, Sonic is back with yet another mixtape - and once again, it is chock full of certified jams. As with his previous releases, Hamilton brings his own style of flows over some impressive (and catchy) beats, making it real easy to keep this on loop during road trips. If you are a fan, like we are, then you definitely need to cop this joint.
We admit that we are way late with this, but you need to see it (if you haven’t). Joe Budden is a HAAP favorite that doesn’t get mentioned enough. You already know about our affinity for Sonic the Hedgehog. This is real talent, without taking hits from the 80’s.
This was our summer jam and it is still our damn-i-wish-it-was-still-summer jam. Sonic the Hedgehog drops this video for “Brooklyn Girls” right about the time we wish we were kickin’ it with Miami girls, but we still have reason to love him for it. The uptown boy with Soho flavor shows just how laid back he truly is. We can dig it. After all, we preach global chilling instead of global warming.
