So over the last couple of months or so Lady Gaga went from unknown New York go-go dancer to the top of the Billboard charts. Her first smash hit was”Just Dance” featuring Kardinal Official and every body’s favorite guest appearance man, Akon. Her second single is the catchy “Poker Face”, a song so catchy that the homies over @ G.O.O.D. Music decided to remix it. Kanye, Common, and Kid Cudi put there own spin on the song, which is entitled ” I Poke Her Face”, nuff said. Thanks to the big homie Perez Hilton, that’s right….Perez Hilton, the self-described ”Queen of all Media” for releasing the track…….Check It Out
DCBG……………….We Stay Fresh, while the rest stay Fresh-strated.
We like to take it back every once and a while. Since we have Common on the brain and in the rotation right now with his latest LP, we wanted to give you a look back at a classic video from ‘95 - enter Common on the hip hop scene with “Resurrection”.
247hh.com and DJ Kid Cut Up have produced this everything-Common mixtape, helping to promote Common’s new album, Universal Mind Control. There is only one thing we love more than new Common music . . . old Common music.
Common’s new album, Universal Mind Control, drops Tuesday, 12/9. We have already put a couple of the songs on Front St. for you to window shop. The album won’t disappoint, as Common rarely does. Features include Pharrell, Kanye, and other usual suspects at the top of the game. Preview the snapshot commercial for the album below from Zune, and scoop it on Tuesday everywhere. As for myself, I’ll prolly throw it on my tab with the grande coffee and Everything bagel at Starbucks Tuesday morning.
Dropping November 11th, Universal Mind Control, Common’s 8th album is gonna be a real problem. This particular video, directed by Hype Williams, is set to Common’s first single from the aforementioned album, although if memory serves us the video for “Announcement” ft. Pharrell Williams came first. Just sayin’.
Almost as important is the fact that we’re just discovering that this video actually exists. A standout yet slept on cut from Common’s Finding Forever album. Produced by Will.I.AM, of the black eyed peas, the video is a star studded affair and a freakin jam. See for yourself.
