Kanye drops his video for Paranoid with Rihanna. I’m getting the feeling that ‘Ye got the clue that his fashion tendencies were bringing him down. He’s been hitting the music scene with more swag lately. Keep ‘em coming. And take those skinny jeans and that scarf off.
Kanye posted this to his blog with a note saying he didn’t release it 4 years ago because he didn’t like it at the time. Not a bad video… Feelin’ the thicky in the dressing room. One thing is for sure; this makes me miss the College Dropout days. Judge for yourself:
In this month’s issue of Details Magazine (on newsstands now), there is a rather candid interview with Kayne West about all he has gone through in the past year and where he plans to take his career in the future. The article is titled “The Unraveling of Kanye West”. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be much good news for those people looking for the “College Dropout” ‘Ye to return.
Everyone knows that Kanye has had a rough year. He lost his Mother and then his girlfriend of six years left him (cold). The article tries to explain what has been going through Kanye’s mind, but for the most part the article makes the man even more of a mystery.
The article does answer a few questions, whether they needed to be answered or not. What is the driving force behind “the voice of this generation?” Sex. Apparently, Kanye spent his preteen years making a video game where his protaganist was a giant penis and the villans were… well I am sure you can figure it out.
What does Kanye plan to do now? Take over the fashion world. Apparently, he has been trying to break in at great personal cost, spending a quarter million for each sample line he has gotten designed. He has a line of designer sneakers slated to hit a Paris runway soon.
What about music? Kanye: “Put this in the magazine: There’s nothing more to be said about music. I know what I’m doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It’s on cruise control… Now let’s talk about how my sweater didn’t come back right from Korea. That’s what’s interesting me.”
Kanye is not the first major hip-hop star to claim he is over music. It is unlikely that 808s is the last album he ever drops. However, the idea of him putting it on autopilot after one of his most polarizing albums for critics and fans alike makes you wonder if his spaceship has flown… away.
