Young Wayne , who is one of the hardest working people in show business, has been grinding away in the studio to put together the mixtape No Ceilings, the debut from his new record label titled Lil Wayne presents…We Are Young Money and his forthcoming full-length album, Rebirth, that is in stores now. The rap/rock crossover album hasthree singles Da Da Da, On Fire & Drop the World (featuring Eminem); with a few other songs being changed from their orginal format including Prom Queen and Ground Zero with Hot Revolver being left off all together. And if you didn’t know, there is an extended version of Hot Revolver, with the second verse’s subject matter probably being the reason for why it was dropped from the album. Another track that didn’t make the cut, F**k Today (featuring Gudda), is also available on iTunes to be downloaded and added to your Rebirth Mix. Overall, I enjoy the new album from Wayne but I have heard die hard fans say they like his old stuff better. As for the rock fans opinion, I won’t even go there because they will be sure to throw it under the bus. Everybody is intitled to an opinion that goes without saying but if you need some new music to get yourself motivated to go back to the gym after a bad break up then this is just for you. Holla.
Birdman featuring Drake & Lil Wayne - 4 My Town (Play Ball)
Through the phone, someone asks, “Where you at ?”. “Sittin’ on the throne“, is the response. And that is exactly where the Birdman is posted on his perch in his aerie. So whether you like the raps of Cash Money Records founder, Brian “Baby” Williams or not, frankly it doesn’t matter. As long as he has Lil Wayne and Drake around, which might be Forever, they all will have, Money To Blow. The 5* Stunnas new album, Priceless, will be in stores everywhere 12/11.
This should get you ready for the first game of the NBA Finals tonight. Lil Wayne rapping for four minutes about Kobe (and himself of course). I expect them to use this in the pre-game later on in the series, especially since I don’t remember any cursing. Probably not tonight, though because it’s that new-new.
DCBG, tried to tell you over the last couple of days that Lil Wayne was on FIRE!!!!! We told you that he was all over the place, so it shouldn’t surprise you that Wayne’s most recent exploit was being interviewed by CBS news anchor, Katie Couric. Weezy and “Miss Katie” as he calls her, discuss everything from Hurricane Katrina to sippin sizzurp. It even looks as if the two begin to flirt with each other when Wanye and Couric duel it out in a bowling match, which is one of his favorite sports. Check the vid and peep why Wayne doesn’t see himself as a role model.
Lil Wayne has gone from the 12-year-old boy who released his first album in 1994 “True Story”, a duet with former Cash Money label mate BG, to being a competitor on ESPN’s “Around the Horn”. He was nominated for 8 Grammys in 2008 and won 4. He recently released a documentary, Tha Carter, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and he also stated that The Hot Boys are planning a comeback sometime in 09. It’s beyond safe to say that Weezy F Baby, please say the Baby, is all over the place. So it shouldn’t surprise people that Wayne was recently featured in Gatorade’s “What’s G” commercial. Wayne narrates the commercial with his raspy voice describing what makes every athlete G. What’s next for Wayne???? Not sure, but it obviously takes a G to know one.
