Kenzo Digital (Kenzo Hakuta) has been cooking something special in the kitchen. Calling it an “experimental hip hop opera”, this film stars Nas, Jay Z, Ghostface, Biggie Smalls, Raekwon, Samuel Jackson, Delroy Lindo, and Laurence Fishburne. According to the City of God’s Son site, “it is a crime drama/coming of age tale of three fictitious characters growing up in a crime ridden city in a jungle. This project explores the icon of the gangster in modern media, and weaves musical history and gangster film history in to an operatic music based story of brotherhood and survival. An homage to 90’s New York hip-hop, “City of God’s Son” is the redefinition of the remix. Featuring Legendary soul singer Joe Bataan.”

We had no idea this existed, but this is the illest commercial Sprite has ever released. Nas and AZ in 1997, sitting on some steps (in what we would like to think is Brooklyn), freestyling back and forth, then throwing in an “Obey Your Thirst” mention. Nothing but Firm biz and soda on a summer day in New York. Dope stuff. Check the video.
Nas has jumped on board with the Italian sportswear brand to promote a new velour suit. This might become our new favorite stocking stuffer (hint). But we need the jambox that Nas sports in the pic as well. In any regard, they are rumored to be available at FLAUGE and other FILA accounts soon.
This is a track that is killing it in the clubs right now. Ron Browz, the producer of Nas’ “Ether,” offers up the first single off his solo debut. There’s plenty of remixes floating around out there, but only Jim Jones and Juelz made the video.
We had to bring you this. Rock the Bells is blowing around the country with hella steam right now. A recent performance by Nas brought a special guest, Hova himself. Not even the crowd knew at first. Check it.
