Finally got around to listening to the most recent Wale Mixtape,  “Back to the Future”.   It is a collabo with 9th Wonder and Nick Cathdubs.   The tape has been out for a few months.  What can I say, we’re lazy.  Still, I needed a Wale fix.  His debut album “Attention: Deficit” seems to keep getting pushed back.  It has a firm release date of “Summer 09″.   Well, the summer is almost over and we are ready for DC’s finest to drop that shit.

This mixtape should hold you over until the official LP drops.  It is good for a few spins.  There is a remix of Chillin’ on there and a ton of cameos.  It doesn’t hold up to a few of his earlier mixtapes like the Mixtape About Nothing, but Wale set the bar high for himself.

Wale dropped the first single off of his upcoming album Attention Deficit. The album is slated to drop in the summer, but we have the audio from “Chillin” for you now.  The track has a hot sample from “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” (shout out to the Louisville Cardinals) and is featuring Lady Gaga. If you have missed a few of Wale’s mixtapes or if you have just had your head up your ass and don’t know who Wale is, this album is the perfect intro to the man with “more cross over appeal than weed” (Rolling Stone).

Wale has been dropping a lot of press lately.  He released the first single “Chillin” (featuring Lady Gaga) off of his debut LP Attention Deficit. It is slated for release this summer, but the first single is on this mixtape.    Wale also announced the release date for his next mixtape Back to the Future. It is slated for April 29h and we will post it as soon as it drops.   You can keep up with all of Wale’s upcoming events and announcements on his myspace page.

Anyway, The Road To Attention Deficit (Mixtape) was put out to catch everyone up on the road Wale has taken to get to this point.  If you missed Paint a Picture, Hate is the New Love, 100 Miles & Running, or The Mixtape About Nothing, this is a compilation of the best tracks from those albums.  There are a few notable jams missing like “Nike Boots”, but Hip Hop Update and DCtoBC did a good job picking some of the best tracks.
